The Kyoto style weight was developed while fishing for bass in Japan's largest freshwater lake, Lake Biwa. Our guide had a unique rig he used after an increase in fishing pressure lead him to try some unorthodox fishing techniques. The rig featured a distinct weight capable of being rigged a number of ways, and ultimately lead to our success on the water.
